About Kanken Big

This slightly larger model has a little more room than the classic 16-litre bag. It has padded shoulder straps and is ideal for school, day trips or biking to work. Made from durable, lightweight Vinylon F. The Big has a large main compartment with large opening making it easy to put in/take out items.

With one side pocket and a zippered pocket in the front, it has handles at the top and narrow, supple shoulder straps. There is a seat cover in the pocket at the back and the logo doubles as reflector. The side pockets are particularly useful for a mobile phone, magazine, pens and pencils.

Vinylon F fabric has been used in Kanken day packs for the past 25 years. While being a synthetic fibre, Vinylon F still maintains the properties of natural fibres. Most conventional backpacks need a coating to become water resistant. This provides a short term waterproofing but loses its properties over time. Vinylon F needs no extra coating and absorbs moisture better than any other synthetic fibre. It swells like a natural fibre making the weave more dense when wet. This gives waterproof qualities eliminating the need for coating.
